Child Safe Requirements for MRNA Affiliated Clubs

2024 Netball Victoria CHILD SAFE REQUIREMENTS

We have provided the three steps that all clubs affiliated with Netball Victoria are required to complete in order to make sure that we are all compliant with Child Safe obligations.

Working with Children Checks (WWCC) are Mandatory for anyone that works or volunteers with children under the age of 18, this includes all club committee members, coaches, managers, volunteers and parents involved with clubs.

STEP 1

Record all contact details and Working with Children Check information for club Volunteers and provide a copy to the MRNA prior to Round 1 (note – when completing this form all WWCC cards should be sighted)

Each club must complete the form below and submit it to to the MRNA at childsafe@macedonrangesnetball.com.au prior to Round 1 of the Season (20 April 2024).

If personnel are in the process of obtaining a Working with Children Check please indicate this this in the table and provide an update when the approval is received.

Please note that registered Teachers, Members of Victoria Police and children under the age of 18 do not need a working with children check.

We advise that Coaches under the age of 18 are always supervised by an adult when working with children.


STEP 2

Ensure that your club and the MRNA are added to all volunteers Working with Children Check list of Organisations on the Service Victoria Portal

To add the MRNA click this LINK to go to the Service Victoria Website and follow the instructions below.

  • Log in using your Working With Children Check card information - note, it is important to use your name exactly as it appears on your WWCC card

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the ‘Organisation Details’ section and click ‘add an organisation

  • Add the Following Details:

    • Place Name - Macedon Ranges netball Association

    • Address - PO Box 506 Gisborne VIC 3437

    • Phone - 03 5422 0333

  • Click ‘next

  • Scroll down to ‘Organisation Details’ and check ‘Macedon Ranges Netball Association’ appears in the list.


STEP 3

Join Netball Victoria as a Member for 2024 - Required for Coaches, Players and Umpires and recommended for Committee Members.

Netball Victoria Membership provides members with insurance cover through the National Insurance Program. All umpires and coaches need to have full membership (senior, junior, all abilities). By Becoming a member of Netball Victoria you agree to all applicable Netball Victoria policies.

When you complete your membership online through Netball Connect, you will receive an email which will confirm your registration to Netball Victoria. You should keep this for future reference.

How to Register:

Clubs will need to add the following categories to their Netball Connect registration:

  • Senior ($86) - For those born before 31/12/2005 and in the role of a Player, Umpire, Coach or Bench Official

  • Junior ($66) - For those born between 1/1/2006 and 21/12/2016 and in the role of a Player, Umpire, Coach or Bench Official

  • All Abilities (AA) ($66) - Persons who have an intellectual disability or a physical impairment

  • Off the Court ($62) - Committee Members, Administrators, Volunteers, Parents & Spectators

Notes

It is not required to join as an Off the Court Member, but is recommended for Committee Members for Insurance coverage.

Players are automatically provided Junior Membership as part of their registration into the MRNA competition.
